The official Manitoba Job Futures website clumps together Health Care Aides (HCA) with Nurse Aides. However, most in province job advertisements and courses designate the HCA title. On the job duties are similar to other provincial nurses aides/psw’s. According to the Manitoba government, industry prospects are rated as ‘good’ from the years 2011 – 2015.
Manitoba allows for some portions of a class to be held digitally (i.e. via computer). Courses begin at just 22 weeks and are focussed primarily on in-class learning, although a short in-field placement is required.
